Uplifting Populations Support Initiative - Delivering EMDR
UPSIDE seeks to advance leaders in the EMDR community and increase the number of individuals from diverse lived experiences who achieve credentials of EMDR Certified Therapist™ and EMDR Approved Consultant™.
Through the EMDRIA Foundation, UPSIDE is rooted in the belief that leadership in EMDR therapy includes advancing trauma treatment where it is most needed. The program is designed to support EMDRIA™ members who are committed to expanding access to EMDR therapy for communities facing multiple structural barriers—people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with disabilities. UPSIDE assists these members in progressing toward EMDR Certification™ or EMDR Consultant™ status, equipping them to lead with clinical excellence and conscious inclusion.
The program will award support to selected applicants in the spring and fall of each year. The Foundation will disseminate the Fall 2025 awards before the end of the year. Applications will be accepted from October 15th through November 4th.

The Initiative
Increasing diversity in the field of EMDR Therapy and building a network of support for those who are committed to expanding access to EMDR therapy within communities facing multiple structural barriers (people of color, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities.
Information & Terms
This is a program of the EMDRIA Foundation, and is overseen by the EMDRIA Foundation Board who establishes a selection committee to evaluate applications and recommend recipients to the Foundation Board.*
The committee shall receive applications twice a year, (Spring and Fall)
Methods of support will include stipends for consultation, virtual conference registration scholarship for one year or virtual EMDRIA continuing education to fulfill the EMDR Certified™/EMDR Consultant™ requirements.
This program is available to EMDRIA members.
Submission information will include a description of your goals for work in EMDR Therapy in writing and a two minute video.
